How to read a price: an individual charge such as the bathing fee is not necessarily the amount actually payable. The amount may depend on the duration, person, service plan, selection category and conditions of a temporary offer. Check what the figure includes, its conditions and when the source was checked.
The figures below are not a market-wide Yoshiwara price survey. They are the amounts shown on Chocolat’s official system and pricing page when checked on 20 October 2026, Japan Standard Time. Prices differ by person, service plan and selection category.

What are Yoshiwara’s prices and typical rates?
Labels such as “high-end”, “mid-range” and “budget” do not determine a price or the service offered. A Yoshiwara-wide average would require data with a consistent set of establishments, duration, selection conditions and survey date. This article cannot verify such a source, so it does not present averages or price bands as established market rates.
When comparing establishments, use each establishment’s official prices to compare the total for the same duration, distinguish partial fees such as bathing fees, and check selection fees and temporary conditions. Chocolat’s figures are set out separately above.
Reading prices at higher-priced establishments
Even establishments described as high-end differ in duration, plan and what the displayed amount includes. Do not compare a bathing fee with another establishment’s total. Check the total under the conditions you intend to use.
Reading prices at mid-range establishments
Terms such as mid-range or popular-price establishment do not establish an average price or service content. Compare official totals and conditions for the same duration.
Reading budget prices
The lower a displayed figure appears, the more carefully you should check whether it is a partial bathing fee or the total including selection conditions. If it relates to a shorter duration or a limited-time offer, check what qualifies.
Comparing establishments
To compare within a budget, use totals and durations under the same conditions. Do not rely only on the category name or bathing fee, and check whether what you want incurs separate charges.
How Yoshiwara pricing systems are presented
Presentation differs by establishment. The following items may be included, so check whether a figure is a partial fee or the total under your intended conditions.
- Bathing fee.
- Service fee.
- Online selection fee.
- Repeat selection fee.
- Other options.
- Joining or membership registration fees.
How totals are displayed also differs. Check the actual total, including the person, plan and selection category, with the establishment’s official information or reservation desk.
Bathing fees and service fees
Some establishments list a bathing fee and a service fee separately. Others show a total that may also include selection conditions. Check the establishment’s own presentation.
- Bathing fee: part of the amount paid to the establishment; it does not necessarily represent the total.
- Service fee: a charge sometimes listed for the service provided. Check how it is distinguished from the bathing fee and whether it is included in the total.
You cannot calculate a service fee or total from the bathing fee alone. If official information gives a total, compare the same duration and selection category. If no total is stated, check with the establishment before using it.
Online/photo selection, repeat selection and no preference
Some establishments charge different amounts depending on the selection category, in addition to bathing and service fees.
- Online/photo selection: choosing someone from photographs or a profile. Check charges and any discount conditions for the establishment and person concerned.
- Repeat selection: choosing the same person again. The total may differ from online/photo selection; consult the corresponding official category.
Some establishments also have a “free” or no-preference category in which no particular person is selected. Availability, totals and discounts vary by establishment; check current official information.
What does “total” mean?
The total is the amount actually payable, comprising items such as the bathing fee, service fee and selection fee.
Price presentation and payment methods vary. State the person, plan and selection category and directly confirm both the total payable and accepted payment methods. Chocolat lists current 120-minute totals on its official system and pricing page (Japanese) and individual official profiles.

When comparing with other types of establishment too, use the same duration and applicable conditions. Do not infer service content or satisfaction from a displayed amount alone; compare the points important to you using official information.
